We serve clients across Florida and work with multiple insurance carriers to help individuals, families, and business owners compare coverage options that fit their state and industry requirements.

Big lots, long driveways and two counties
Odessa sits right on the Pasco and Hillsborough county line, and it does not look like the suburbs around it. Much of it still has large lots, horse properties and homes tucked back from the road, with newer neighborhoods like Starkey Ranch filling in north of State Road 54.
That mix keeps a lot of work trucks on the road: tree services, fence builders, landscapers, pool crews and anyone hauling equipment to a property with a long gravel drive. We help those businesses set up commercial auto that fits the work. Our agency is based in Wesley Chapel, a straight shot east on State Road 54.
The name goes back to the 1880s, when Peter Demens, who built the Orange Belt Railway through the area, named it after the city of Odessa. The trains are gone, and today the roads through the area are busy.
Which county is your truck in?
Because Odessa spans two counties, the address where your vehicles park at night matters more than usual. A truck kept on the Pasco side and one kept on the Hillsborough side may be rated differently, even if they are a few miles apart.
Give us the real overnight address for every vehicle, including trucks that go home with employees. If you move your yard or a driver moves across the line, let us know so the policy stays accurate.
County lines can also show up in contracts. A customer in Hillsborough may send a different set of insurance requirements than one in Pasco, and we can help you keep track of both.
State Road 54, Gunn Highway and the Suncoast
State Road 54 is a heavily traveled commuter route across southwest Pasco, and Gunn Highway carries traffic north and south between Odessa and Citrus Park. The Suncoast Parkway interchange at State Road 54 puts Tampa, Spring Hill and the airport within reach for crews that work a wide area.
All of that adds up to a lot of miles. We ask how far each vehicle usually goes and where the longest trips go, because radius is one of the things carriers price most closely. Be honest about the once-a-month run to Brooksville or St. Petersburg too.
If a truck spends most of its day on highways rather than neighborhood streets, the carrier may view it differently. Describe a typical day for us, start to finish.
Heavy trucks, trailers and equipment
Work on large properties often means bigger equipment: a dump trailer for fill, a flatbed with a skid steer, a chipper behind a tree truck, or a gooseneck with fencing materials. Each of those trailers needs its own listing with a VIN or serial number and value.
The equipment itself, like the skid steer, chipper or mowers, is usually insured under a separate equipment policy, not commercial auto. We can quote both at the same time. See our pages on tree service insurance and fence installer insurance for how carriers look at that work.
Drivers carriers want to see
For trucks that pull heavy trailers, carriers look closely at driver experience and records. A driver with a recent accident or several tickets can change the price or the carrier’s answer, so we check driver information before we quote.
We will ask for each driver’s name, date of birth and license number, and whether anyone holds a commercial driver’s license. If you hire a new driver during the year, send us their information before they get behind the wheel.
Towing a heavy trailer takes practice, especially backing into a narrow driveway or pulling onto State Road 54 in traffic. Owners who train new drivers on the trailer before sending them out alone are doing their future renewals a favor.
Homeowners, builders and certificates
A lot of Odessa work comes directly from homeowners, but builders and HOAs in the newer communities often ask for a certificate of insurance before you start. Some want a specific liability limit or to be named as an additional insured.
Send us their written requirements early. Some need a change to the policy, not just the certificate. Our guide to certificates of insurance and contract requirements covers the most common requests.
Working on horse farms or ranch land? Property owners may ask about damage to fences, gates or pasture. Tell us about that kind of work so we can look at general liability alongside your auto policy.
What to send us for a quote
- Business name, type of work and years in business
- Year, make, model and VIN for each truck and trailer
- Name, date of birth and license number for each driver
- The overnight address for each vehicle, and which county it is in
- Your current declarations page and loss runs, if you have them
- Any builder, HOA or contract requirements
Call or text 813-302-7151. The insurer decides eligibility and price after underwriting, and we will explain each option in plain words.
Serving Odessa and nearby communities
We also work with businesses in Land O’ Lakes, Lutz, Trinity and New Port Richey. Whether your trucks stay close to Gunn Highway or cover both counties every week, we can help you build a policy around how you really work.
If you also need general liability or workers’ compensation for a contract, ask us to quote them at the same time.
Not sure whether your pickup needs a commercial policy at all? If it hauls equipment, carries your logo or is driven by employees, it usually does. Our page on personal auto vs. commercial auto explains why.
What businesses in Pasco County pay for insurance
These ranges come from real quotes our agency has run for businesses across Pasco County, which includes Odessa. Prices are annual and include taxes and fees. Your price can land outside them, because vehicles, drivers, payroll and claims usually matter more than the ZIP code. Parts of Odessa south of the county line are in Hillsborough County, and the cost guide below lists Hillsborough County ranges too.
- General liability$300 to $7,000 / yearAbout $25 to $590 a month.
- Commercial auto, whole policy$2,000 to $36,000 / yearAbout $160 to $3,000 a month.
- Workers' compensation$900 to $4,000 / yearAbout $75 to $340 a month.

My business is in Hillsborough but I live on the Pasco side of Odessa. Which address counts?
The carrier rates each vehicle where it is kept overnight. If your truck sleeps at your house in Pasco, that is the address that matters for that truck. Tell us where every vehicle is parked at night, even if the business mailing address is different.
I pull a skid steer on a flatbed trailer. Is the skid steer covered by my auto policy?
Usually not. The truck and the trailer go on the commercial auto policy, while the skid steer is normally insured under a separate equipment policy. We can quote both at the same time.
A builder in Starkey Ranch wants a certificate before I start. What do I send you?
Send us the builder’s written insurance requirements. We will check which items the carrier can meet, add any endorsements needed, and issue the certificate once the policy supports it.
Does it matter if my trucks go to Tampa and Clearwater every week?
Yes. Carriers price how far your vehicles go and how often. Tell us your normal area and your longest regular trips, so the policy matches your work.
Are you a local agency?
Yes. We are based in Wesley Chapel, east of Odessa on State Road 54, and we work with businesses on both sides of the county line. Most quotes happen by phone, text and email.
