Reviews reflect individual customer opinions and experiences. They do not guarantee specific coverage, pricing, service timing, or claim outcomes.
You may be looking for your first individual health plan, leaving job coverage or trying to understand what changes when Medicare starts. You may already have insurance and simply need to know whether your doctor, prescription or upcoming procedure is included.
Those are different questions, so we start with what is happening in your household.
Covered by Guzman helps Florida residents with ACA Marketplace coverage, Medicare Advantage, standalone Part D, qualifying Special Needs Plan options, HSA-eligible health plans, and standalone dental and vision. We also help employers with ICHRA setup and employees with the individual-plan side. Appointments are normally handled by phone or video, with service available in English, Spanish and Arabic.
ACA Marketplace / Obamacare in Florida
The Marketplace is a place to compare individual health plans and apply for available financial assistance. It is not the insurance company that pays every claim. After enrollment, the selected insurer administers the policy under its benefits, network and other terms.
For a Marketplace review we look first at the Florida county, tax household, expected annual income, available employer coverage, doctors and current medications. The Marketplace determines eligibility and any assistance using the application information. We help you understand the questions and compare the available plans, but we do not promise a subsidy or a particular premium.
An application also needs an eligible enrollment period. Open Enrollment has a calendar, while certain life events may create a Special Enrollment Period. Do not cancel an existing policy before the new coverage and effective date are understood.
Our Obamacare guide, income article and enrollment guide explain those steps. You can also review the official information directly at HealthCare.gov.
Medicare Advantage and Part D
Medicare decisions begin with the coverage you already have or are becoming eligible for, your service area, doctors and prescriptions. Medicare Advantage is a private-plan way to receive Medicare-covered benefits; standalone Part D provides prescription coverage alongside eligible arrangements such as Original Medicare.
Check a plan's network, drug formulary, medical cost sharing and eligibility rules before its extra benefits. An allowance or reward does not make up for a missing specialist or an unsuitable medication benefit. Plans and benefits vary by county and year.
Our Medicare focus is Medicare Advantage and Part D, including Special Needs Plan options when a person qualifies and a suitable plan is available. We do not sell Medigap. Some educational pages still explain Medigap neutrally because it is part of understanding Medicare choices.
Start with Medicare explained, Part D coverage or our Medicare appointment guide. For the broader official view, use Medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE.
ICHRA for Florida small businesses
A business owner buying personal health coverage and an employer designing employee benefits are separate situations. ICHRA, an Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement, can let an employer reimburse eligible individual coverage expenses through a formal arrangement.
The setup must address eligibility, employee notices, administration, substantiation and the interaction with Marketplace tax credits. Employees also need to understand which coverage is eligible and how an employer offer can affect assistance.
Covered by Guzman helps with the ICHRA setup process and the individual-plan review for employees. Read our Florida ICHRA guide and the Marketplace ICHRA information before promising a benefit amount or telling employees how a tax credit will work.
HSA-eligible Marketplace plans
A Health Savings Account is separate from the health-insurance policy. An eligible plan can support HSA contributions when the person also meets the account rules. A high deductible alone is not a complete eligibility test.
We help identify eligible health-plan options and compare how those plans handle medical care and prescriptions. Account contribution limits, other coverage, Medicare enrollment and tax treatment require their own review.
Beyond the account’s tax advantage, check whether the plan works for your care: providers, routine prescriptions, the deductible and the out-of-pocket exposure. Our HSA guide connects that insurance review with official tax resources.
Dental and vision
Standalone dental and vision plans can address needs that are not fully included in a major-medical plan. They have their own networks, limitations and benefit schedules.
For dental, compare preventive, basic and major services, waiting periods, annual maximums and the dentist's participation. A treatment estimate shows which procedures to check, but the insurer still decides what it pays on each charge. For vision, review exam benefits, glasses or contact allowances, frequency limits and provider access.
Our dental and vision article explains the details. A plan for routine glasses is not the same as coverage for medical treatment of an eye condition.
Life changes and Special Enrollment
A baby, marriage, divorce, job change, move or loss of coverage can affect insurance. The circumstances, timing and required documentation matter as much as the event itself. Not every change permits enrollment or a plan switch in the same way.
For example, losing a job and losing qualifying job-based health coverage are not always identical. A newborn's hospital paperwork does not add the baby to a health policy. A move for a temporary assignment may not be treated like a qualifying change of residence.
Use the relevant guide before making assumptions: newborn enrollment, coverage after divorce, COBRA versus Marketplace and lost Medicaid. Each guide explains the next insurance step and links to the official program.
Help after enrollment
We also help after an application is submitted. Clients may need help with billing questions, plan changes, proof requests, portal access, Form 1095-A or understanding how to approach a coverage question.
We can help identify the plan documents, clarify a notice and organize the next step. We do not control a claim decision, medical authorization or appeal outcome. When an issue belongs with the insurer, Marketplace, Medicare, state program or tax professional, we tell you so, because the agency cannot decide it.
Text or WhatsApp is generally the fastest contact method, with phone and email also available. The team usually follows up within 12 to 24 hours on business days; weekends and complex requests can take longer. A first reply does not mean a quote, enrollment or policy change is complete.
For a review, have your current coverage, county, household information, doctors and medications ready. Share sensitive documents through the method requested by the agency, and review the application before submission.
Key numbers for 2026 and 2027
These are the figures people ask us about most. They change every year, and we update this page when the new figures are published.
| Item | 2026 | 2027 |
|---|---|---|
| Marketplace out-of-pocket maximum, individual | $10,600 | $12,000 |
| Marketplace out-of-pocket maximum, family | $21,200 | $24,000 |
| HSA contribution limit, self-only | $4,400 | $4,500 |
| HSA contribution limit, family | $8,750 | $9,000 |
| Medicare Part B standard premium | $202.90 a month | Not published yet |
| Medicare Part D out-of-pocket cap | $2,100 | $2,400 |
The Marketplace out-of-pocket maximum is the most you pay in a year for covered in-network care, not counting premiums. The Part D cap is the most you pay out of pocket for covered drugs in a Medicare drug plan that year. The 2027 Part B premium has not been announced yet; CMS usually publishes it in the fall.

You can review HealthCare.gov and Medicare.gov directly. For confusing terms, our health-insurance glossary explains the words with examples.
Covered by Guzman does not complete Medicaid or Florida KidCare applications. Use Florida KidCare or Florida's Medicaid information for those programs. We do assist with reviewing and applying for Medicare Extra Help and Medicare Savings Programs; those have different processes, explained in our Medicare assistance guide.
We do not offer every plan available in your area. For information on all of your options, please contact Medicare.gov, call 1-800-MEDICARE, or contact your local State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP).

Frequently Asked Questions
What health-insurance products does Covered by Guzman help with?
We help with ACA Marketplace, Medicare Advantage, standalone Part D, qualifying Special Needs Plan options, ICHRA, HSA-eligible plan selection and standalone dental and vision. Availability and eligibility depend on the product and the person.
Do you help clients throughout Florida?
Yes. Health services are statewide Florida, normally by phone or video. A statewide service area does not mean every plan is available in every county.
Can you check whether my doctors and prescriptions fit a plan?
Yes. We review the exact plan's current provider and drug information and clarify uncertainty with the insurer when needed. Networks and drug lists can change during the year, and the insurer still decides whether each service is approved.
Do you sell Medigap or short-term health insurance?
No. We do not offer those products. Our Medicare focus is Medicare Advantage and Part D, and our individual-medical focus is eligible ACA Marketplace coverage.
Do you complete Medicaid or Florida KidCare applications?
No. We direct clients to the official state programs. Helping you move to a Marketplace plan after losing Medicaid is a different service, and we do help with that.
Do you help with Extra Help or Medicare Savings Programs?
Yes. We can help review eligibility information and applications for those Medicare assistance programs. The responsible government program makes the determination.
Does submitting a form mean I am insured?
No. Coverage depends on successful enrollment, the plan's effective date and any premium or verification requirements. Confirm active status before relying on the policy.
Can I receive help in Spanish?
Yes. The team can communicate in Spanish, English and Arabic. The English and Spanish website guides explain the same insurance decisions in their respective languages.
