Where three counties meet

Trinity sits near the spot where Pasco, Hillsborough and Pinellas come together, which makes it a natural base for businesses that work all three. From here, a van can be in Odessa, Tarpon Springs or New Port Richey in a short drive, so a route that crosses county lines is normal here.

We help Trinity businesses set up commercial auto that matches the way they work. Our agency is based in Wesley Chapel, across Pasco on State Road 54, and we work with owners here who want clear answers about their vehicles, drivers and coverage.

Trinity is not its own city, so many businesses here have a New Port Richey or Odessa mailing address. That is fine. What the carrier needs is the real street address where each vehicle parks at night.

A planned community that grew quickly

Trinity was developed in the late 1980s and took its name from Trinity College of Florida, the Bible college nearby. The census counted about 4,300 residents in 2000 and almost 12,000 in 2020. Much of that growth is higher-priced single-family homes in planned neighborhoods.

Homes like these keep a steady stream of service businesses on the road: pool service, lawn and landscape crews, pest control, cleaning companies, painters and handymen. Their vans and pickups spend the day parked in customers’ driveways and on neighborhood streets, and many carry company signage.

A logo on the door tells the carrier, and any claims adjuster, that the vehicle is used for business. If it is still insured on a personal policy, that can become a problem after an accident.

The medical side of State Road 54

HCA Florida Trinity Hospital sits on State Road 54, and a cluster of doctors’ offices and specialty practices has grown up around it. That brings its own kind of driving: medical couriers, lab and pharmacy deliveries, home health visits, and staff running between offices.

If your business moves supplies, specimens or equipment, the carrier will want to know what you carry, how often and how far. If you transport patients or clients, that is a different risk and needs to be described clearly. Our home care transportation page covers what carriers look for.

Courier work often means odd hours, like early lab runs and late pharmacy drops. If your drivers are on the road before dawn or after dark, mention it.

When employees drive their own cars

In medical offices and service businesses, employees often use their own cars for quick work errands: a bank deposit, a supply pickup, a drive to another office. If one of them has an accident on that errand, the business can be pulled into the claim.

Hired and non-owned auto coverage is built for that situation. Depending on the policy, it can help protect the business when an employee’s personal car or a rental is used for work. It is often added to a business policy even when the business owns no vehicles at all.

Drivers and radius

Trinity crews move between Little Road, Trinity Boulevard and State Road 54 all day, and many cross into Pinellas or Hillsborough. Carriers rate how far each vehicle travels and who drives it, so we ask about both.

  • Who drives each vehicle, including part-time staff
  • Whether employees take vehicles home at night
  • The farthest place each vehicle goes in a normal month
  • Any driver with recent tickets or accidents

It is better to talk through a driver’s record before you hire than to find out at renewal that one driver changed your price. Part-time, seasonal and weekend drivers count too, even if they only fill in a few days a month.

HOAs, gates and certificates

Many Trinity neighborhoods are gated or managed by an HOA, and some ask service companies for a certificate of insurance before they let a crew in. Property managers and medical offices may also ask for specific limits or to be named as an additional insured.

Send us those requirements before you sign. Some need an endorsement on the policy, not just a certificate. Our guide to certificates of insurance and contract requirements explains the common requests.

Tight streets with cars parked on both sides make backing out of a customer’s driveway an easy place for a small accident. A quick walk-around before backing up is a simple habit worth teaching every driver.

What to send us for a quote

  • Business name, what you do and how long you have been doing it
  • Year, make, model and VIN for each vehicle
  • Name, date of birth and license number for each driver
  • Where each vehicle is kept overnight
  • Whether employees use their own cars for work errands
  • Your current declarations page and loss runs, if you have them

Call or text 813-302-7151. The insurer decides eligibility and price after underwriting, and we will walk you through what each quote includes and what it leaves out.

Opening a new office or starting a service company? We can quote before your first vehicle arrives, so the policy is ready the day you need it.

Serving Trinity and nearby communities

We also work with businesses in New Port Richey, Odessa and Port Richey, plus Seven Springs and Elfers. Whether your business is a two-van pool service or a medical courier with a handful of cars, we can help you set up a policy that fits.

If you also need general liability, professional liability or workers’ compensation, ask us to quote those at the same time.

What businesses in Pasco County pay for insurance

These ranges come from real quotes our agency has run for businesses across Pasco County, which includes Trinity. Prices are annual and include taxes and fees. Your price can land outside them, because vehicles, drivers, payroll and claims usually matter more than the ZIP code.

  • General liability$300 to $7,000 / yearAbout $25 to $590 a month.
  • Commercial auto, whole policy$2,000 to $36,000 / yearAbout $160 to $3,000 a month.
  • Workers' compensation$900 to $4,000 / yearAbout $75 to $340 a month.

My staff use their own cars to run errands for our medical office. Do we need coverage for that?

It is worth a look. If an employee has an accident on a work errand, the practice can be named in the claim. Hired and non-owned auto coverage is designed for that situation, depending on the policy, and it can often be added to a business policy even if you own no vehicles.

I deliver lab specimens and pharmacy orders around Trinity. What will carriers ask?

They will ask what you carry, how many stops you make, how far you go and who drives. If you use your own car, tell us, because a personal auto policy may not respond to regular delivery work.

My HOA customers want a certificate before my crew can enter. How does that work?

Send us the HOA’s written requirements. Once the policy is in force and meets those requirements, we can issue the certificate to the HOA or property manager.

My vans work in Pasco, Pinellas and Hillsborough. Does that change anything?

It can. Carriers look at where vehicles are kept overnight and how far they travel. Tell us your usual area and your longest regular trips so the policy matches your work.

Is your agency nearby?

We are based in Wesley Chapel, east on State Road 54, and we work with businesses across Pasco County and the Tampa Bay area. Most quotes happen by phone, text and email.
